Synthesis Client Software for Android Devices

The Synthesis synchronisation client for Android devices is available directly from the Synthesis website. This application allows you to synchronise your Contacts between your device and your AddressBookONE account.

The Synthesis client can be downloaded from the Synthesis website by clicking here.

Please note that the client you download will be an evaluation version. A License for the client must be purchased from Synthesis.

Configuration

Once you have downloaded and installed the application onto your device you will see the Synthesis icon on the main application list.

Selecting the Synthesis icon will open the application and you will see the sync section of the application as shown below:

On this screen you will find the "Start Sync" button at the top of the screen, as well as a section regarding the last sync details of the contacts datastore.

Settings

Selecting the Settings option from the application menu will take you to the following screen:

Here you will be able to change the various server and datastore settings of the Synthesis client. Screen shots of each section are shown below.

Server Settings

The settings required to allow you to synchronise with AddressBookONE are as follows:

• Profile: AddressBookONE
• Server URL: http://sync.addressbookone.com/
• SyncML Version: SyncML 1.1
• Username: Your AddressBookONE login email address
• Password: Your AddressBookONE password

Contacts Settings

On the Contacts settings you can choose the sync mode you wish to synchronise with. Full details on sync modes can be found on the Sync Mode Help page.

You will also need to specify the server path as Contacts.

Client Log

The log file can be accessed from the application menu and will show you details of all of your recent sync attempts. The most recent sync attempt will be shown at the top of the list.

Each log will show the date and time of the sync process as well as what sync mode was in use at the time.

You will also see details on how many items were added, updated or deleted by the device and/or server, as well as information on any items that were rejected by the device and/or server.

Finally you will be able to see the amount of data (in bytes) that was sent and received during the sync.

You can clear the log file by clicking the trash can icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

Synchronisation

To start the synchronisation process with your AddressBookONE account simply tap the Start Synchronisation button on the main screen of the application.
